OVERVIEW
Mikumi National Park is a national park near Morogoro, Tanzania with an area of 3,230 km² that was established in 1964. It is the fourth largest in the country. The park is crossed by Tanzania's A-7 highway.
Mikumi is a home of large herds of Elephants, Buffaloes, Zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, Leopards, Lions, Sable Antelopes, Great Kudu, and many more. The chances of seeing tree climbing lions in Mikumi national park are higher than in the famous tree climbing lion’s home that is Lake Manyara national park.
We normally combine mikumi national park with udzungwa because it’s very near and udzugwa mountain is a beautifull national park is the largest with most biodiversity and a chain of a dozen large forest-swathed mountains that rise majestically from the flat coastal scrub

DETAILY ITINERARY:
Day 1:
Dar es Salaam /Mikumi National Park
Pick clients at the place of staying in Dar es Salaam and drive to Mikumi National Park. The park shares a common boundary with Selous Game Reserve to the South forming a vast track of protected wilderness. Lunch will be at Morongoro Town at 12HR30pm depends on traffic. In the afternoon you will have game viewing drive in the park around the hippo pools (Kisungura Circuit). Most animal can be seen coming down to drink at water holes and the Hippo Pools from time to time but the stars of the show will always be the hippos themselves. Dinner and overnight at will be at Tanapa Guest House. Meals Plan: Lunch & Dinner

Day 2:
Mikumi National Park/Udzungwa Mountains National Park
Breakfast followed by game drive in the park. The Mikumi flood plain is the main feature of the park along with the bordering mountain ranges. Late in the afternoon transfer to Udzungwa Mountains National Park, the largest and most biodiversity of a chain of a dozen large forest-swathed mountains that rise majestically from the flat coastal scrub of eastern Tanzania. Known collectively as the Eastern Arc Mountains, this archipelago of isolated massifs has also been dubbed the African Galapagos for its treasure-trove of endemic plants and animals, most familiarly the delicate African violet. Dinner and overnight will be at Twiga Resort.

Day 3:
Udzungwa /Dar es Salaam
Breakfast followed by start trekking leads to the spectacular trail up to Sanje waterfalls looking for monkeys, swimming in plunge pools, and enjoying the spectacular view. This is the prime attraction for this area and if you are a keen walker then taking at least one of these hiking opportunities is strongly recommended. Bear in mind, however, that it is very hot, particularly at midday, and this can have a considerable effect on even the fittest of walkers. After picnic lunch descend, where you will meet with your drive and drive back to Dar es Salaam, where you will arrive late evening and drop off at the hotel of your choice or airport.
